More
than 100 people took a behind the scenes look at our new £12 million luxury care
community as Foxhunters in Llanfoist officially opened its marketing suite
earlier this week (Monday 20th August).
Work started on Dormy Care’s flagship home in Iberis Road,
Llanfoist, last September. As well as providing a mix of residential, nursing
and dementia care across its 70 luxury ensuite rooms, Foxhunters features some
impressive facilities for residents. These include a cinema,
bar, coffee shop, gym and hairdressing salon. It will also offer residents a
free wheelchair-friendly chauffeur service and its very own chef, providing a
fine dining menu for residents using locally sourced produce.
So far more than 380 people have applied for the 120 jobs
the project will create when it opens on November 19th.
The Mayor of Abergavenny – Councillor Teslin Davies,
officially opened the suite where people can see what rooms and facilities will
look like, as well as get a tour and ask staff any questions they may have
about the home.
“I am very impressed by what I’ve seen and I’m sure
Foxhunters will be a great success,” said Councillor Davies.“It’s great for the town in terms of creating new employment
opportunities and also how Dormy Care have used and will continue to use local
suppliers and partners.
“The staff I’ve met here have told me how proud and excited
they are to work here and I’m very grateful to Dormy Care for providing quality
and hopefully very enjoyable employment for the local community.
“In Foxhunters, Dormy Care have created a community which
will also play an active part in the wider community which surrounds it, taking
part in all of the activities that Abergavenny has to offer.
“The council looks forward to engaging with Dormy Care and
the people who come to live here, and we hope you all feel welcome as new
citizens of Abergavenny.”
Helen
Maiello, Dormy Care Communities Managing Director, said:
“We are grateful that the Mayor took the time out of her
busy schedule to come and visit us. We look forward to continuing to grow the
new and existing relationships we have in the local community.
“We are so proud to call Abergavenny home to our flagship care
community – Foxhunters. The level of interest in the jobs and residency is
unbelievable. We could have staffed Foxhunters three times over. Dormy Care is thrilled to be opening such
luxury, quality, provision in Abergavenny and the opening of the marketing
suite is the latest step on our exciting journey to creating the perfect home
for life and we cannot wait to show people around.”
Foxhunters Home Manager , Marie Wood, echoed Helen Maiello’s
sentiments and said anyone interested in having a tour of the suite is welcome
to visit.
“I’ve been in the industry for 15 years and I am thrilled to
be working with people who share my passion for providing the best individual
care.
“Foxhunters is so fantastically thought through and I’m so
excited that people can finally get a real snapshot of how the home is going to
look.
“We would love to show anyone interested in Foxhunters
around, from potential residents to people living nearby or in the local
